About CS

Company Secretary (CS) is a professional degree course which offers huge scope for the aspirants.Company Secretary (CS) is one of the principal posts in a company. He/she act as a conscience seeker of the company. A certified Company Secretary is hired to handle the legal aspects of a firm. A CS is responsible for complete company’s tax returns, keep records, advise board of directors and ensure that the company complies with legal and statutory regulations.

Company secretaries are appointed in any company which has a minimum share capital of Rs 50 lakh. And since India is fast becoming a place where new conglomerates and entrepreneurial ventures are popping up, rest assured, if you choose this line, the demand will be soaring.



Eligiblity and Exam Pattern

Company Secretary course consists of three main stages. They are – Foundation, Executive, Professional. If you are a 12th passed student(Except Fine Arts Stream), you must register for the foundation programme. Eventually, you may clear it and register for executive programme. After qualifying executive stage, you may register for professional programme. If you hold a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, you may register directly for Executive programme. After qualifying executive stage, you may register for professional programme

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) conducts the CS Foundation, Executive & Professional examination in the month of June and December. After completing the above mentioned programmes, candidates must also successfully complete 15 months management training in Companies sponsored by ICSI or under the guidance of a practicing CS.
